I’m a service provider and need to conduct a collection on behalf of my client. Can I sign up?

Yes, just be sure to indicate on the first page “I am a Service Provider purchasing on behalf of my client” and you will be prompted for additional information.

I’m purchasing on behalf of a client to do a collection. Why do I need to provide my client’s information and set up a dedicated environment?

From a technical and security/privacy standpoint, a dedicated client environment is required. This protects your client’s data from co-mingling with other client’s data and maximizes performance and security. Your client will be glad to know that their data is safe and your collection will operate as quickly as possible.  We require a technical point of contact from your client for emergencies only; this will not be used for solicitation purposes.

What is a Connected Source?

A Connected Source is based on connected end-user accounts. For example, if you connect 10 Gmail accounts and 10 Slack users, this counts as 20 Connected Sources.

How do you treat enterprise connections, like Slack Enterprise?

For enterprise Connected Sources, such as Slack Enterprise, each Slack user that is connected from the enterprise account counts as one Connected Source.

Are there any data size limits?

Each Connected Source includes 15GB of data processed. Data processed is uploaded and run through Onna’s metadata extraction and machine learning engines.  Data processed is tracked in aggregate at the Onna account-level. For example, 10 connected sources will allow for 150GB of data processed, regardless of which connected source the data is coming from. Large collections from a single connected source, for example, may require additional connected sources to be purchased to increase the data processed limit.  You can see how this is calculated here.

For usage-based plans that require more than 100 connected sources, more than 1.5 TB of data processed, please contact sales.

Where is my data hosted?

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Platform which has numerous security certifications from third parties with regards to physical security, data center operations, and personnel security. A complete list of certifications can be found here.

Does Onna have its ISO 27001 and SOC2 Type II certifications?

Yes, we do. Click here to learn more about our security practices.

What happens at the end of a trial?

At the end of your trial period or once your upgrade to your paid subscription, your connected sources will be deleted and your Onna environment will be reset. Trials are intended to orient you to Onna and are not recommended for full production use.

What if I need to increase my data size limit?

Most collections are focused around custodians. However, if your collection is oriented towards a large data set, you should purchase enough Connected Sources so your Data Processed limit is large enough for the entire data set. Need to calculate the price for a certain amount of GB? Click here.

What is a connected source?

A connected source is defined as an individual user or custodian whose data is collected from a single source like Slack, Quip, Microsoft Outlook or Gmail.

For enterprise Connected Sources, such as Slack Enterprise, each Slack user that is connected from the enterprise account counts as one Connected Source.

What if I need to connect to another source?

The Account Manager can purchase additional Connected Sources in My Plan. Your account will be immediately updated.

Are there any size limits?

Yes, 15GB of data processed per connected source.

What are the supported integrations for the online sign up?

Onna currently offers integrations to Slack Enterprise, Slack, Quip, Gmail, and Microsoft Outlook. You also have the option of uploading your own files.

Why do you charge per connected source, vs per GB?

We charge per connected source as we’ve found that our clients tend to think in the number of places they store their data, not their file sizes.
