      Frequently asked questions

      Where is my data stored and processed?

      Where your data is stored and processed depends on how Onna is deployed for your organization. We offer two solutions:

      • Standard cloud deployment: Data is hosted in our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with data stored at Google’s Council Bluffs Iowa data center.
      • On-premise deployment: You decide where your data is hosted, whether it’s hosted with AWS, Google Cloud, or behind your firewall.

      What information besides data do you collect from my account?

      We use the platform’s API to collect native files and their metadata. The metadata we collect varies by source, but we only collect the files and metadata on your account. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

      What is an API?

      API stands for application programming interface, which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. Visit our Platform API for more information. 

      Is Onna secure?

      At Onna, we take the security of your data very seriously. Your data is stored on a highly trusted cloud platform that has numerous attestations and certifications from third parties with regard to physical security, data center operations, and personnel security. A complete list of certifications can be found here.

       

      Our SOC 2 Type II certification provides third-party validation that we manage our customers' data with the highest standard of security and compliance. We also conduct annual third-party infrastructure and web application penetration tests and participate in an ongoing bug bounty program.

      What is Onna's data retention policy?

      Data is retained for an account's lifetime as long as the account is active with Onna. You can alternatively choose to delete data from the platform.
