    Tim Anderson

    Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting

    Tim Anderson is a Senior Managing Director in the Technology segment and is based in San Francisco. He has over twenty years’ experience in legal technology as an e-discovery consultant, paralegal, programmer, and application development manager.

    Mr. Anderson currently leads the Emerging Data Source Team at FTI. In this role he is responsible for directing data identification, integration, preservation, collection, and analysis strategy and workflows to support clients in an ever-changing digital and regulatory landscape. With a deep background in digital forensics, application development, and e-discovery systems, the Emerging Data Sources Team have conducted investigations and collected evidence in matters involving data in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and many other cloud-based systems.

    A frequent speaker on topics related to emerging data discovery, Mr. Anderson is a regular contributor at events like Relativity Fest, LegalWeek, Today’s General Counsel Institute, and Women in E-Discovery. Mr. Anderson is also a regular guest lecturer on e-discovery topics at UC Hastings College of Law and USC Law School and has authored numerous articles on e-discovery in publications like Law.com, e-Week, and ARMA Information Management Magazine.

    Prior to joining FTI, Mr. Anderson worked as a consultant with the e-discovery advisory firm, Strategic Discovery, Inc. At Strategic Discovery Mr. Anderson was responsible for the creation and development of a structured data analytics practice group to focus on the technical aspects of data discovery in enterprise systems.

    Mr. Anderson was also responsible for creating, building and leading Strategic Discovery’s Data Processing Team. Mr. Anderson began his career at the law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP. In his role as an application development manager and as a litigation paralegal, Mr. Anderson was responsible for leveraging technology to support the firm’s attorneys and clients.

    Jeaneen Kappell

    Senior Counsel, Division of Enforcement at U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
    Jeaneen Kappell is a Senior Counsel in the Fort Worth Regional Office of the Securities & Exchange Commission, and a member of the SEC’s Complex Financial Instruments Unit. In her role, Jeaneen investigates potential violations of the federal securities laws to determine whether to recommend the Commission bring enforcement actions. She joined the SEC in May 2020 after 10 years in private practice as a litigation associate in the Dallas offices of Morgan Lewis and K&L Gates, where she represented companies and individuals in government investigations. Jeaneen received her B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and her J.D./M.A. from American University.

    Tim Thames

    Strategic Solutions at Onna

    Tim Thames is a Senior Strategic Solutions Executive at Onna, focused on providing success planning for new and existing clients.

    With more than 28 years of legal services experience, Tim has dedicated 17 of those to educating legal professionals of the EDRM workflow and the impact technology has on efficiency and compliance in eDiscovery, digital forensics, and litigation support initiatives.

    Beginning at product liability cases with major automobile and tire manufacturers, Tim managed documents and data for clients to spearhead discovery efforts. He then transitioned in-house to manage technology and discovery efforts with large legal departments. Tim grew along-side eDiscovery, managing many eDiscovery stages from governance to production.

    Tim provides knowledge back to the community through an Adjunct Professor role with Midlands Technical College where he teaches paralegals on guidance in eDiscovery, litigation support, and law office technology. He has established an eDiscovery focused course and is finalizing a student manual that will be published for student use.

    Tim holds certifications in forensic and legal review platform softwares as well as a Private Investigator license in the State of South Carolina. He received a Bachelors from the University of South Carolina.
